Can I study in Malaysia after HSC?
Yes. Bangladeshi students who have completed HSC, A Levels or an equivalent recognised qualification may apply for foundation, diploma or bachelor’s programmes, subject to university requirements.
Is IELTS mandatory for studying in Malaysia?
Not for every institution. Universities may accept IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, MUET, an approved Medium of Instruction certificate or an internal English assessment. The final requirement depends on the selected programme.
Can international students work while studying?
International students may work for a maximum of 20 hours per week only during semester breaks or holidays lasting more than seven days. Prior approval from the Malaysian Immigration Department is required, and employment is limited to approved sectors.
Are scholarships available for Bangladeshi students?
Some Malaysian universities offer merit scholarships, tuition discounts and other financial awards. Availability depends on academic performance, programme, intake and university policy.
How long does the Malaysia Student Pass process take?
EMGS states a client charter of 14 working days for a complete application. Processing may take longer when documents are incomplete or additional agency clearance is required. Students should apply early.
Is medical insurance required?
Yes. International students must maintain insurance coverage throughout their study period in Malaysia. Post-arrival medical screening is also required.
